Bright people…

Bright ideas

UKAEA Culham Division encourages its scientists to take their bright ideas and turn them into viable commercial products. One way of exploiting these ideas is through UKAEA's membership of the Rainbow Seed Fund consortium along with other public sector laboratories including: the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) (formed from the merger of CCLRC and PPARC), the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the Defence, Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL), the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), Health Protection Agency (HPA), National Physical Laboratory (NPL), Central Science Laboratory (CSL), Macaulay Research Institute (MSI), Scottish Crop Research Institute (SCRI) and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA).

The Rainbow Seed fund aims to identify and progress ideas with commercial potential generated by scientists in public sector research establishments and maximise the market opportunities presented by scientific research.
