A new company to exhibit in the foyer was HMD who demonstrated their pump range. HMD manufacture zero leakage centrifugal pumps for the chemical, refinery and nuclear industries. By their very nature sealless pumps are safer as there are no fugitive emissions. As the design of the pump is extremely simple there are huge cost benefits when it comes to maintenance. HMD have over 100,000 pump units in operation around the world on over 14,000 different applications. “It was also really good to meet the people that work with the HMD sealless pumps on the JET machine” said Richard Frost. A regular exhibitor to Culham is Pulse Power and Measurement Ltd. On show were a variety of high voltage and high power components and systems. Nor-Cal UK have been regular exhibitors at Culham, showing some examples of their wide range of high and ultra high vacuum components. “We had an excellent day catching up with old contacts but also meeting some new ones. We have been a supplier to the site for many years, but have found the one day exhibition to be the most effective way of showing the maximum amount of people who you are, and what you can do.
