Croydon-based Centronic Ltd, a specialist in manufacture of electronic and electro-mechanical components for high performance applications, is supplying an Ultra High Vacuum electrical feed-through assembly for interfacing of the diagnostics related to the ITER-like Wall project, an EFDA/JET enhancement programme.

ITER site, Cadarache

At the beginning of March, the first ITER Building Workshop took place at Cadarache. The two-day event presented details of seven procurement packages for the construction of the ITER buildings during 2009-2011. Three UK companies attended the event with Dan Mistry, UKAEA's Fusion and Industry manager.

Delegates at the Advanced Technology Showcase
|
On 18 March Fusion and Industry had the opportunity to exhibit at the Advanced Technology Showcase event in London organised by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). Deniese Willis and Martin O’Brien manned the UKAEA stand and had a steady stream of visitors throughout the day, ranging from familiar faces from companies who already work for fusion, to companies new to UKAEA who were interested in getting involved with ITER.
