Mewasa exhibition

Specialist bellows manufacturer Mewasa recently exhibited at Culham for the first time and it was a great opportunity for their new UK Sales Manager Allan Jaunzens to make lots of new contacts and explain their technical capabilities. “We are already a supplier to many leading UK and European facilities including CERN” commented Allan. “We can deliver custom bellows and bellows assemblies in a whole range of sizes from 13mm outside diameter up to more than 500mm in a range of materials including titanium and a range of nickel and stainless steel alloys. The free design guides we gave out were really popular with all the systems engineers who came to visit us on the day. From the questions we got I also realised that some of the specialist fabrication work we do with “double walled bellows” and “ceramic joined bellows assemblies” could be ideal for solving some next generation challenges as your engineers plan their next build projects”. Allan is already looking forward to his next visit. For further information email a.jaunzens@mewasa.com, or call 07802 784406 or visit http://www.mewasa.ch

Mathworks Exhibition

To support existing and potential MATLAB users to accelerate the speed and effectiveness of their data analysis & modelling process, MathWorks exhibited at Culham recently. They met with over 20 personnel during the exhibition and conducted a Colloquium the previous day which provided an insight into the latest version of MATLAB. Many application areas were discussed during the exhibition including Visualising data, Building Graphical User Interfaces, Generating Algorithms, Publishing reports, Numerical analysis, deploying / embedding MATLAB applications and licensing topics. To address the licensing issue, they entered into preliminary discussions with UKAEA IT administration to determine if there is a more appropriate method of managing UKAEA’s MATLAB licences. "We look forward to further supporting the MATLAB user community at UKAEA and welcome their feedback" said Matt Costin. Once again ORLIN Technologies took the opportunity to exhibit in the foyer at Culham. "Our range of precision micropositioning products were well received by the scientists and staff at Culham", said Martin Bell, Orlin's Sales Director. On display were piezo actuators, voice coil actuators, motorised and manual positioning stages and piezo electric ultrasonic motors. New for this year were the versatile range of DSP-based motion controllers from Technosoft. These compact and economical controllers have the advantage that they can be reconfigured for most motor types with a simple software change, making it possible to have a common control solution for all motion systems. "ORLIN are looking forward to returning to Culham again next year." said Martin. For more information about these products, please contact Martin Bell on 01525 306100 or email martin.bell@orlin.co.uk or visit http://www.orlin.co.uk
