| A meeting at Culham on 25 October put IT companies in the picture for ITER’s CODAC (Control, Data Access and Communication) procurement. With the launch of F4E’s CODAC tender due shortly, around 25 representatives from UK companies attended to gain a better understanding of ITER’s requirements and see the CODAC facilities at CCFE.

Michael C Taylor from Digital Applications International (DAI), who was at the meeting, said: "The presentation was very interesting and informative and followed on from the presentations I attended at Cadarache at the end of September. DAI is certainly interested in being part of the consortium to bid for the forthcoming tender."
CCFE’s Head of IT Jon Farthing gave a presentation to the meeting and explains: “If companies can understand the challenge and scope that was needed, they’re more likely to form consortia so we can have a coherent offering,” he said. “Many of those who attended have the right expertise and by joining forces they will have an excellent chance of success.” |
