Dan addressed over 200 delegates at EBOC’11 in October. The event promoted future activities across the nuclear and renewable energy sectors, bringing together world-class suppliers and businesses to provide market intelligence on local, national and international opportunities. It encouraged the exchange of ideas and provided advice to supply chain companies wishing to diversify beyond nuclear and into other energy sectors. Delegates were therefore very interested to hear about the ITER project from Dan. “It was good to meet Cumbrian-based companies at the event,” comments Dan. “Many of these companies are already working on nuclear sites and fusion offers new opportunities, so I look forward to supporting them as they seek to enter the fusion programme.”
At the request of Invest in Northern Ireland (Invest NI) and the Aerospace, Defence and Securities (ADS) Trade Association, Dan Mistry attended the "Invest NI Nuclear Supply Chain Awareness Seminar" in early November to promote fusion opportunities to companies in Northern Ireland. Over 60 delegates were present and many of them are involved in construction, civil engineering, precast concrete, precision engineering and environmental consultancy.
Michael Polson of Invest NI said: “Dan provided a very detailed route map of how Northern Ireland companies should target opportunities from the fusion programme. I know a number plan to visit Culham before Christmas and Invest NI hope that this is the start of long and beneficial business relationships.”
