The UKAEA Culham Division is a strategic partner within the Photonics Cluster (UK), a specialist optoelectronics network dedicated to supporting the adoption of this technology and based at Aston Science Park in Birmingham. This collaboration will permit UKAEA staff to participate within the wide ranging member activities undertaken throughout the UK.

Through its strategic partner status UKAEA will be able to link directly into the forthcoming activities of the UK Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network.

Fusion scientists are working with the Photonics Cluster to identify companies capable of assisting UKAEA in developing plasma diagnostic systems for fusion research at Culham and ITER.
